Stilwell, Richard G. (Richard Giles), 1917-

Richard Giles Stilwell (b. Feb. 24, 1917-d. Dec. 25, 1991) was commander of cadets at the U.S. Military Academy from 1961 to 1963 and later commander fo the 1st Armored Division, XXIV Corps, in Vietman in 1968. He commanded the 6th Army at the Presidio in 1972 and 1973, then the 8th Army from 1973 to 1976, followed by his command of the United National Command in Korea. After retiring from the military, he served as U.S. Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Policy from 1981 to 1985. ...
